Health and Welfare

East Kent Elderflowerings is a group of community volunteers set up  in 2013 to work with older people with conditions such as dementia and Parkinsons in community settings, mainly Age UK centres. The organisation helps over 75 clients, together with carers and family members, who attend regular creative sessions that are held in Dover, Deal and Folkestone. Group members collect memories, songs and photographs and are encouraged to express themselves through speaking, singing and movement. There is significant therapeutic value in these activities through using music and creative activity to share memories and recollections and passing them on to wider audiences.
