The Rotary Club of Folkestone’s Annual Half Marathon has raised over half a million pounds for good causes since it began in 2006.
Over 400 runners take part every year, raising funds for the Rotary Club and other charities. In addition, participants are encouraged to dedicate their run to their own charities and raise money as individuals through sponsorship.
A children’s race is also available, a firm favourite since the race was set up and the race director liaises with schools to encourage them to join in with a shorter 500m distance.
The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust’s contribution helps to meet the costs of organising the event, which also encourages more people to become involved with sport.
