The Trust has supported the Rotary Club of Folkestone’s Half Marathons for a number of years. These events have raised over £175,000 for a number of good causes. In 2013 the main beneficiary was the children’s hospice Demelza House, although runners may also nominate their own choice of charity. Over 450 runners took part, raising just over £30,000. The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust’s contribution helps to meet the costs of organising the event, which also encourages more people to become involved with sport.
