23-25 Tontine Street sees first residents move in

The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust is pleased to have handed over its latest Creative Quarter project to Creative Folkestone and residents are already moving in.
The £3million project which started in March 2018 saw renovation of the existing building on Tontine Street plus demolition of the dilapidated building behind it, in front of Payers Park, making way for five stunning residential properties and four commercial units.
Whilst the existing building was completed some time ago and already has a mix of families and individuals in residence, the newest part of the development was officially handed over on 8 September and is now welcoming its first tenants.
Gabrielle Wilson, Project Director said: “23-25 Tontine Street is the third and most stunning of the three Phase lll projects. It gives the Creative Quarter some amazing eco-friendly timber framed buildings in a leafy calm space that provides a brand-new connection between Tontine Street and Payers Park. Creative Folkestone has tenants waiting to fill most of the spaces, bringing new creative individuals and enterprises to Folkestone.”
The accommodation represents a significant and necessary addition to the space available to people who work in the creative industries, whilst improving visual cohesion between the thoroughfares of The Old High Street and Tontine Street. As with similar Creative Quarter properties, the buildings will be leased for 125 years on a peppercorn rent to the independent arts charity Creative Folkestone, enabling them to provide much needed additional capacity for those in the creative sector who require living, work or retail space in this thriving area.
