Young People of Dover, Shepway and Ashford Celebrate at Try Angle Awards 2015

The South Kent Try Angle Awards 2015 took place on Thursday 16 July at Dover Town Hall, when well over 100 young people, parents, teachers, youth leaders and supporters braved Operation Stack and came together to celebrate the achievements of young people in Dover, Shepway and Ashford Districts.

Entertainment was provided by singers and dancers, including numbers from Ashford Dance and Sebastian Fairley. The evening was compered with consummate professionalism by Luke Davies and Jodie Melville, and awards were presented by one of the originators of Try Angle, Bill Butler.

Awards were made in several categories, including volunteering, being a good friend and carer, courageous behaviour and positive intervention, as well as personal achievement in music, the arts and sports and outdoor activities. Award categories were sponsored by local authorities, companies and other organisations, including the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust.
