Support for the Community
Did you know there is a specialist service providing support for potential volunteers and organisations who need volunteers from the community?
Kent Coast Volunteering (KCV) has approximately 275 registered organisations in the Folkestone area that rely on support from volunteers. KCV offers a brokerage service between volunteer involving organisations and volunteers, promoting opportunities for potential volunteers and also connecting volunteers with an organisation that suits them.
Could you help?
Benefits to volunteering include:
- Proven to be good for your health and wellbeing
- Opportunities: to meet new people, learn new skills. Boost C.V, build your confidence
- Connect to and help your community
The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust donated funds towards a part time Volunteer Connector at KCV who supports the volunteers and the organisations that rely on them.
You can register your interest as a volunteer on the KCV website. Not all potential volunteers have access to the internet, so if you are reading this article and think you know someone who might be interested in supporting the local community, and might themselves benefit from volunteering, please do tell them about Kent Coast Volunteering. They can call the Volunteer Connector, Mandy Sangiuseppe on 01303 259007.
Organisations can also register and promote their volunteering opportunities: https://kcv.org.uk/organisations/
