Excitement as Folkestone’s world-first skatepark opens

The world’s first purpose-built multi-storey skatepark will open to the public on 4 April 2022. Home to three skatepark floors, a 15m lead climbing wall, dedicated bouldering area, cafe and boxing facilities, Folkestone 51 has been funded by The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust (see details about the project). It will celebrate its opening with a number of launch events starting from 25 March 2022.The £17million project is situated at the junction of Dover Road and Tontine Street in the centre of town. It was designed by Guy Hollaway Architects and will be managed by The Sports Trust.

F51 is open to everyone and the team at The Sports Trust will be working hard to ensure that the sports hosted at the park are accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, ability or background.
