Shepway Sports Trust Announces New Gold Elite Ambassador
Olympic and GB athlete Jack Green has joined the ranks of the Shepway Sports Trust’s Gold Elite Ambassadors.
Jack attended Saltwood Primary School and Brockhill Park School and joined Ashford Athletics Club at the age of nine. He has represented Great Britain at the Olympics and World Athletics Championships and is currently ranked 11th in the world for the 400 metre hurdles. He was at university in Bath but has now moved back to the Folkestone area after some time spent living and training in Florida. He is preparing to represent Great Britain at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Jack will work alongside Shepway Sports Trust’s other ambassadors as they visit the area’s schools to help inspire young people to become involved in sport.
Shepway Sport Trust was set up with the aid of grants from the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust to encourage participation in sport, establish effective partnerships between local sports clubs and schools and to help promote excellence and achievement.
